Here’s a short explanation of each finish type:
Stain – A clear protective coating mixed with a slight color. It preserves the wood grain while subtly altering its tone and adding durability. Penetrates the wood surface to add color while allowing the natural grain and texture to show. Great for highlighting the beauty of the wood.
Glaze – A thin, semi-transparent layer applied over stain or paint to create depth, accentuate details, and give an aged or textured effect.
Tinted Varnish – A solid paint-like finish that completely covers the wood grain, offering a smooth, uniform, and modern look.
Stain + Glaze – Combines a stained base with a glazed topcoat. The stain adds color and grain definition, while the glaze adds shadows and depth, creating a rich, layered look.
Tinted Varnish + Glaze – The tinted varnish gives a soft color and protection, and the glaze adds artistic shading and depth for a more dimensional and elegant appearance.
